Abstract
Preventive maintenance of the air intake system on the MTU 16V4000 C2IL engine used in the Euclid EH4500-2 Hitachi heavy equipment is essential to maintain engine performance and prevent damage that could disrupt operations. The air intake system plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient combustion and preventing damage to components such as the turbocharger and other internal engine parts. Failure or neglect in maintaining this system can lead to reduced power, incomplete combustion, and even more severe engine damage. This study aims to identify the necessary preventive maintenance procedures for the air intake system of the MTU 16V4000 C2IL engine and analyze the impact of maintenance failure on engine performance and lifespan. The research methods used include literature review, interviews with technicians, and observations of the system's condition in the heavy equipment used. The results of this study are expected to provide clear guidelines on effective preventive maintenance steps to prevent damage to the air intake system and enhance the long-term reliability of the engine.
