Abstract

The purpose of this study was to plan and make a grain dryer by utilizing solar power as a battery charger that supplies power to the grain dryer blower by utilizing solar radiation that is accommodated in a collector box equipped with glass to maintain temperature stability in order to be able to dry the grain moisture content. Planning consists of preparing tools, materials, and welding that will facilitate the process of direct heat transfer using a collector. Tests on a tool that has been designed and then made as a grain dryer indicates that by using a solar powered dryer and gas to dry the grain with a moisture content of 26% then after conducting a drying test for 6 hours, from 09.00 to 15.00 the last grain moisture content showed 12% which is based on the target of the maximum grain moisture content of 14% based on the National Standardization Agency. 2015.
