KAPASITAS ADSORBSI LOGAM KROMIUM (VI) DENGAN ADSORBEN PEKTIN DARI KULIT LEMON
Abstract
Kromium (Cr) merupakan salah satu logam berat yang dapat mencemari lingkungan perairan. Penanggulangan pencemaran dalam air dapat dilakukan dengan metode adsorbsi menggunakan pektin dari kulit lemon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan persamaan adsorbsi Cr (VI) dengan adsorben pektin dari kulit lemon dan menetapkan pengaruh massa adsorben terhadap adsorbsi logam Cr (VI). Kulit lemon diekstraksi dengan massa 15 gram menggunakan bantuan Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) dengan waktu ekstraksi 26 menit menggunakan daya 300 Watt. Proses adsorbsi dilakukan dengan variasi massa (1,2 gr; 1,3 gr; 1,4 gr; 1,5 gr dan 1,6 gr) dengan waktu kontak 1 jam dan kecepatan pengadukan 250 rpm. Metode analisa yang digunakan untuk mengukur nilai adsorbansi adalah dengan alat Atomic Absorbtiom Spectrophotometry (AAS). Persamaan adsorbsi Cr (VI) mengikuti persamaan Langmuir. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kondisi optimum adsorbsi yaitu pada massa pektin 1,5 gr dapat menurunkan kadar Cr (VI) sebesar 0,0452 mg/g ( 70,23 % ).
