Office workers generally spend 6-8 hours per day in a static sitting position, which can potentially cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and reduce work productivity. Various studies show that one solution that can be applied is the concept of active sitting, which is the use of chairs that encourage the activation of certain muscle groups during sitting activities. One relevant form of active chair is the kneeling chair, which is designed to improve posture while reducing the load on the spine. This study aims to examine the potential of a more ergonomic kneeling chair design that also has attractive aesthetic value, so that it can be an alternative piece of furniture for office workers. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach, which reviews the results of previous studies related to ergonomics, productivity, and work chair design. The results of the study are expected to provide recommendations for kneeling chair designs that support ergonomic principles, improve comfort, and contribute to increased worker productivity. This study is expected to enrich the literature on ergonomic-based product design and provide practical references for the development of innovative work furniture.
